CHIBOUGAMAU
The Chibougamau area has an extensive mining history. Nevertheless, it remains relatively unexplored.
Copper and gold were discovered in the early 1900's and roads and railroad access were completed in the early 1950's. The town of Chibougamau was established in 1952 and numerous mines were developed along the shores of Lac Doré and Lac Chibougamau.
